If you’ve been getting small blisters on your palms, sides of the fingers, and soles of your feet, you might be suffering from a chronic skin condition called Dyshidrotic Eczema.
Though your doctor might refer to this skin condition with different names such as dyshidrosis, foot eczema, hand eczema, Pompholyx, Vesicular eczema, know that the diagnosis calls for immediate treatment.
But what exactly is Dyshidrotic Eczema, and how one can get rid of it?
What is Dyshidrotic Eczema?
Dyshidrotic eczema, like other conditions, has no proper cure. It is a recurring skin condition that is characterized by tiny blisters of serum on hands and feet that appear periodically throughout adulthood.
Dyshidrotic eczema, in my opinion, has to be one of the most annoying types of eczema because aside from blisters and flakes, severe inflammation and nail infections make this condition much worse.
The accompanying symptoms can be mild or severe depending upon the age, medical condition, and the current treatment of the individual. Whatever the case may be, proper treatments should be carried out to ease the symptoms.
Symptoms of Dyshidrotic Eczema
The symptoms of Dyshidrotic eczema include.
1. Serum-filled blisters on hands and feet.
2. Cracked feet and flaky fingers.
3. Infected fingernails and toenails.
4. Severe dryness.
5. Inflammation.
Causes of Dyshidrotic Eczema
My years of Eczema journey have taught me that the root cause of eczema is the genes that you cannot fight with. Therefore, I don’t dig further into the root cause of this condition anymore.
However, I keep a regular check on conditions that may exacerbate my symptoms, such as seasons, dryness, dust, chemicals. Therefore, to cater to this, I keep my skin moisturized, nails trimmed, and diet healthy, so I don’t have to suffer more.
According to WebMD, the possible causes of dyshidrotic eczema are.
1. Harsh weathers (dry, cold, humid)
2. Stress.
3. Contact with metals.
4. Seasonal allergies.
5. Sweaty hands or feet.
Dyshidrotic Eczema Treatment
Earlier this year, my hands suffered the worst kind of eczema that lasted to weep for several weeks and left me dumbfounded.
My dermatologist suggested that I moisturize my hands regularly and apply medicated ointments to alleviate the symptoms.
The thing is, as you age, your hands become dry, scaly with brittle nails that need proper moisturization, but the cherry on the cake is eczema.
Therefore, topical ointments and good moisturizers are the staple skincare products for eczema patients.
For Dyshidrotic eczema, I can blindly rely on three amazing products that provide the best result, no matter how bad my skin condition is.
I use these products interchangeably and regularly to keep my symptoms controlled.
Eczema Honey Original Skin-Soothing Cream
I’m a fan of organic skincare products, but this one tops them all.
I use this cream regularly, but more so when my eczema is active. The best thing about this cream is that it uses 1.0% colloidal oatmeal as an active ingredient which soothes the itching, inflammation, and irritation from dyshidrotic eczema.
Other inactive ingredients include.
1. Beeswax: Rich in Vitamin A, which helps moisturize the skin.
2. Organic Honey: Retains body moisture and helps rejuvenates the skin.
3. Organic Sunflower oil: Rich in antioxidants and build up your skin barrier.
Upon researching more about this excellent cream, I’ve realized it didn’t just do wonders for me but others as well.

Last winter my eczema came back with a vengeance, and I decided to try this to avoid steroid creams. After a few months of using this consistently, my eczema is GONE. I am blown away. I’m still applying it to the areas as a preventative measure but no return so far wow. Thank you.
A thousand others recommended this product, and I totally approve of it
Silver Miracles Colloidal Silver Cream
Another magical product that worked like a charm for my Dyshidrotic eczema is the silver cream from silver miracles.
But if you’re allergic to silver, I’d suggest that you consult your dermatologist before its application.
The colloidal silver is proven to attack pathogenic micro-organisms as virus, fungus. Bacteria, or parasites, so it’s not just limited to eczema.
I must admit that this cream helped in clearing the flare-ups and redness due to dyshidrotic eczema within a week, and I couldn’t be any happier.
Also, I’ve been using it as my regular moisturizer and I’m happy that it keeps my skin supple and smooth.
Other customers had nothing but praise for this brilliant cream.

For the past 10 years, I’ve struggled with psoriasis, which gets especially bad over winter, and it had just started up a few weeks ago again. I’ve been to the doctor, tried different ointments that didn’t work, and did light therapy too (which wasn’t very convenient). I heard about “silver cream” a couple of weeks ago that someone used on a spider bite and wondered if it would work on my psoriasis. And it works!!!
However, if you’re allergic to elements or got super sensitive skin, it’s better to check with your dermatologist to save yourself from further skin disasters.
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
I’ve always been an advocate of CeraVe moisturizing cream.
Not just an amazing moisturizer, but a soothing ointment for eczema and psoriasis that is an ideal choice for dry to extremely dry skin types. It features 3 essential ceramides crucial for healthy skin.
CeraVe moisturizer is the best eczema/psoriasis cream over the counter, recommended by top-notch dermatologists. It is a non-comedogenic, paraben-, fragrance-, and oil-free magic moisturizer that suits the baby’s skin as well. Manufactured with dry and sensitive skin type in mind, it features patented MVE technology that provides a healthy stream of hyaluronic acid throughout the day and keeps your skin rehydrated and subtly moisturized.
Since it’s an affordable product, you won’t mind slathering it all over your neck and face for a rich, good night’s sleep.
CeraVe is the best-selling moisturizer in almost all stores, where one customer wrote:
My daughter has severe eczema, one of the worst cases I’ve seen in a while. We have to have her on Benadryl constantly because she’ll claw herself until she bleeds. We tried everything, and eventually; the doctor pointed us to CeraVe instead of Cetaphil. The cream does an amazing job.
Final Thoughts
Dyshidrotic Eczema is one of the most common types of eczema that can cause physical and emotional damage to patients. Apart from emollients and topical treatments, dermatologists recommend light therapy, oral treatments, and Botulinum toxin to get rid of severe to moderate symptoms.
However, if your dyshidrotic eczema is mild, I highly recommend using the above ointments (on your dermatologist’s recommendation/ prescription) as they serve their purpose pretty well.
The active ingredients in these products are organic and strong enough to fight the symptoms of Dyshidrotic Eczema.
Along with these products, use mild, medicated soap and keep your skin moisturized to lock moisture and achieve a healthy, supple glow.
